Sea Dogs All-In Texas Hold’em Poker Night II

Four of us took part in this event.
Doc, Banjo, Rex and Myself. Unfortunately all four of us drew the same table, and with only two from each table going onto the final table it meant two of us were not going to make it.

The table started well, the other two players were soon eliminated by Rex and Doc, then we had another late player buy into the game. He didn't last long only about three hands and he was gone also.

Doc cracked pocket K's with a 5,9 on the 6,7,8 flop. The other guy raise pre flop and Doc called out of the big blind, he flopped the straight. The guy the bet out again, Doc raised and the guy re-raised, Doc re-raised all-in and was called.
Taking down the hand and eliminating the player.

It was lucky that Rex had folded as he would have flopped two pair 6&8. I however should have played as I folded 9,10 and would have had the higher straight to take out Doc and the other player, but he raise pre flop was too much for me to play.

Then just the four of us played together. Rex had the chip lead followed by myself,Banjo and Doc was on the short stack.

Then the big hand came :

Blinds were 200/500
Banjo SB
Rex BB
Doc
Pud dealer

I looked down at 7,7 on the button, Doc called the BB so I raised to 1500.
Banjo called out of the SB, Rex did also in the BB and I think Doc folded.
Flop was Q,7,J
Banjo checks, Rex checks and I ship my whole stake in with a set of 7's, Banjo goes into the tank and thinks a while and finally says 'I call' Rex folds and also Doc.
Banjo turns his hand up showing Q,K having top pair and second top kicker.
I turn mine show 7,7

The turn brings a A, giving Banjo the straight draw.
The river of course brings the 10 banjo needed and he takes the hand down with a A high straight.

I'm then very short staked and about two hands later push all-in with K2s to once again get called by Banjo who has 6,6

Flop brings another 6 and I'm drawing dead, and that's the end of my tourney.

FINAL TABLE :

Banjo actually enters the final table with more chips than Rex, but Rex has to leave the tournament so he is just going all-in no matter the cards he holds. this works well for him by eliminating two people of the table in the first two hands (one of them being Banjo) and then he's the chip leader by a long way.
He then has to go for good and calls his Calcutta player to play for him and she ended up taking down the tourney.

So Rex wins even without being there.
Phil (my non-poker playing brother in-law) finished 4th.
Banjo finished in 6th spot.
Pud and Doc are nobodies.

It was a good night and I'm sure I played the 7's hand the right way, just the cards were against me. Banjo took a big risk with only top pair, but it paid off for him.

You have to take some risks in this game.
